Our Story

What inspired Diana to Learn How to Formulate?

I, Diana Moll,  have sensitive skin.  Store bought skincare always made my skin breakout.  For years I used natural skincare handmade from a woman in Virginia.  She used simple ingredients you could understand, no fragrances or harsh chemicals.  When she retired in 2020, I was worried where I would now get my skincare.  Then I thought why can’t I too learn to make skincare for myself?

In 2020, I enrolled in Formula Botanica, an award winning,  online school based out of the United Kingdom.  There I took all the classes available in skincare, and hair care.  I learned how to formulate safely with natural ingredients.

Skincare and hair care does not need to be made in a factory, shipped overseas,  filled full of chemicals in order to have a shelf life for years.   Skincare should have a shorter shelf life, 12-18 months.  It should not last for years and years stored in a warehouse then on a shelf for who knows how long.  You should be able to understand the ingredients on the label.  Our skin is our largest organ, what we put on our skin matters.

What inspired Christina to Join  Virdey?

Growing up, my skin was a constant challenge—acne, dryness, and sensitivity made me feel like I was fighting a losing battle. Every new product I tried, full of harsh chemicals, only seemed to make things worse. My bathroom counter became a graveyard of failed experiments, and I started to wonder if clear skin was just a fantasy.

Everything changed after a conversation with Diana about natural, eco-friendly skincare. We realized that taking care of ourselves and the planet didn’t have to be mutually exclusive. The idea of using clean, simple ingredients felt refreshing—like finally finding the right puzzle piece. Inspired, we decided to dive into natural skincare together.

That’s how Virdey Skincare was born. It’s more than a way to care for skin—it’s a lifestyle rooted in sustainability and self-love. By embracing natural alternatives, we’ve learned that feeling good in your skin and protecting the planet can go hand in hand. Now, we’re on a mission to help others make small, meaningful changes—because skincare should feel good, do good, and maybe even make you smile.

What is our Mission with Virdey?

We came up with the name Virdey, like verde, meaning green in Spanish, our products strive to be green for our customers. It boils down to our deep-seated drive to craft premium, natural skincare that prioritizes skin health above all else. We’re passionate about formulating products that not only nourish but also heal, free from harmful chemicals.

In an industry saturated with skincare laden with over 90% questionable ingredients and only a small fraction of beneficial components, we’re determined to rewrite the narrative.

Our mission is to provide you with skincare that’s predominantly good and natural, with minimal use of preservatives. Unlike mass-produced skincare that often relies on heavy preservatives to prolong shelf life for global shipping, our approach is different. We handcraft each batch of skincare with freshness in mind, recognizing that its potency shouldn’t be compromised for longevity.

We often liken skincare to a birthday cake. Just as you wouldn’t settle for a cake that’s been sitting on a shelf for months, we believe skincare should be fresh and inviting. It should entice you to indulge daily, like savoring a delicious treat for your skin. If you find yourself struggling to decipher the ingredients list or unable to pronounce them, it’s a red flag. After all, if you wouldn’t ingest it, why apply it to your precious skin? We’re committed to transparency and efficacy, ensuring that every product we offer aligns with your standards of purity and quality.
